Essential Life Lessons from the Book of Deuteronomy

Written by Coach Paul

Good morning my friend!

In this NEW SEASON, I feel impressed to do NEW THINGS.... and blogging is an older expression of how my content creation journey began, and as He gave me this outline, I asked, "Is this to be content creation, lead magnet or a blog?" And He lead me to the blogging....

So, in my studies lately, I see how God is shaping His Word in my season in an entirely NEW way for me!

So, if you like to read, join me in this journey of Biblical Life Lessons as I share my heart with you!

Here we go!

God gave his commandments to Moses to share with the people and these commandments were to live a prosperous life.

As we look into Deuteronomy chapter 8, we see that every commandment that God gave to his people were to be carefully observed to give them life and multiply.

This caused me to think back to the beginning of what we know as time and the instructions from God was for man to take dominion and subdue the Earth and also multiply in number.

Now, why was it important for mankind to multiply?

As I’m looking into verse one, it also says to go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers....

Here’s the revelation behind it all for me, and I want to share this with you.

I had to go back to the beginning…..

From the beginning of time, Genesis 1:28 says, “then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

God knew exactly what we would do, where we would be, and where we would be going, simply put, He is the creator of all things, and He knew that we would have to take territories.

He had the entire blueprint laid out for our lives.

And as we are doing the work, that we call the work of God, He wants us to live a prosperous life.

So, as I was reading this passage this morning, I couldn’t help but realize that when I looked at the word commandment, it popped out at me so clearly… What if God is showing us His love through the Commandments and they become principles in life that will lead us to the success that we desire?

🤔 and this lead me to ponder a few minutes...

  • Every day is a mindset shift.

  • Every day is an opportunity to go deeper.

  • Every opportunity is a new door for success.

All of this depends on how you and I look at God‘s word.

You see, as you have probably heard me say before we base our life and our lifestyle from the snapshots of life that we’ve captured.

We all have our internal cameras pointed in every thing that we look into, And if we’re not careful, we can get lost in a perspective that will lead us to a place of total condemnation.

Based on certain snapshots of life, we have been taught traditional ways of thinking.

Maybe you have been taught that God is just up there ready to smite you.

Or maybe you’ve been taught that God is just a God of love and everything goes.

But here's the thing, we as a people, as business owners, as ministry leaders, as parents, as community driven individuals, we must understand that there is a rhythm to God‘s love, grace, and instruction that comes with commandments.

These are the boundaries that keep us in the safe places of life, but we must submit.

As we see here today, we see that God‘s love, His commandments, and His desire for His people to prosper is evident through His written word.

Would you agree?
