Good morning my friend thank you so much for joining me back in another blog post with insight and revelation.
So today, as we continue in Deuteronomy 8, we will be focusing on verse 1-2.
“And go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers. And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.”
Deuteronomy 8:1-2 NKJV
The latter part of verse 1 let us know that God swore to our fathers… Now I know that we are not Abrahams BLOOD lineage, however, we have been grafted in as gentiles.
And again, I don’t know if my bloodline is attached to Abraham, there’s been so many generations that have come forth from the beginning. But for writing sake, and times sake, I think you get the point.
So when the Bible tells us that God swore to the people we can see that this is promise and covenant.
So in the covenant God is reminding the people of the promise , so I cannot deny the fact that in today’s living, for my personal life, I must always go back to remind myself that God swore, promised, and I have covenant with him.
All of this is because of the blood of Jesus Christ. When Jesus came, He came with one thing in mind, and that was our salvation. And salvation covers everything that we are to live a good and prosperous life as well. And this is the results of God‘s promises and covenant.
Does that make sense?
So, now let’s look at Deuteronomy 8:2… “And you shall remember that the Lord your God lead you all the way these 40 years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.”
Now, follow me here to focus on the journey of being lead all the way these 40 years.
Have you ever felt like you’ve been in a season of maturing, perfecting, regrouping, new perspectives, and all of the above? I am here to tell you today, that you are not alone.
I, too, am on a journey of life with God. And sometimes we think our seasons should be short for some reason.
But the truth is is when we look at the life of Joseph, Abraham, Joshua, Moses, and many other patriarchs in the Bible, their journey was not an overnight result.
I believe that because we are in a space in time that everything is accessible like no other time as far as technology, devices, speed and accuracy, we tend to think that God needs to operate in our timing.
Would you agree?
So, when I look at the 40 years of God leading his children in the wilderness, I can relate to the long seasons of humbling and testing.
Can you?
If you could be totally transparent with yourself right now, have you enjoyed those seasons as you’ve gone through them? I can almost guarantee that you did not. But as you and I look back in our life, we see the blessing that was attached to it.
If there’s one thing that I have learned in life, is that God and life will humble us and test us every single day until we learn the lesson. And the truth and the power in this is that He does it all because He loves us and desires the best for us!
Take a few minutes and sit with the Lord and allow Him to speak to your spirit, about those areas of your heart that may not be in total alignment with what He has intended for your life this season.…”To know what was in your heart…” If you will take a moment to write, ponder or simply pray for Holy Spirit to highlight any area of your heart that needs nurturing.
And when you have sat with the Lord, understand that these biblical lessons for life are to help Empower, Establish and Equip you for your next level.
My hearts desire is to pour out what God gives me in these blog entries, because I love to see community win.
God loves to see you win, and it takes obedience and direction to make that happen as well.

This is right on point, as i have been in this place of remembering especially in times of testing and trial. It is a focal point to get me back in alignment. I also remind my clients that in the middle of hard times to remember and not lose hope.
Pastor this is so insightful! I've felt like I've been gaining knowledge, understanding, His wisdom, growing (maturing) and pruning in this season of my life. It's truly been an eye opener!
